With the official opening of its newly expanded mill in Kutno, the GoodMills Group – Europe’s leading milling company and a subsidiary of Leipnik-Lundenburger Invest Beteiligungs AG (LLI) – has taken a significant step in strengthening its market leadership in the European flour sector.

The expansion represents a strategic €25 million investment, doubling the mill’s annual production capacity from 140,000 to 280,000 tons, making it the second-largest facility in the Group and one of the largest flour mills in Poland. This development not only marks a major technological advancement but also delivers meaningful economic benefits to the Polish milling industry and the local community. By expanding the Kutno site, the GoodMills Group aims to consolidate its market leadership in Poland and further increase its market share.
Official Inauguration Ceremony
The ceremonial opening took place on June 17, 2025, and was attended by international guests, industry stakeholders, and employees. Key speakers included Leonhard Gollegger (CEO GoodMills Group), Piotr Piąstka (CEO GoodMills Polska) Kurt Miesenböck (CFO LLI) and Michael Höllerer (CEO Raiffeisen-Holding NÖ-Wien).
Strategic Goal: 1 Million Tons of Milling Capacity in Poland
The expansion in Kutno is part of GoodMills’ broader growth strategy in Poland. Construction of a fifth mill – this time in eastern Poland – is already in the planning stages. Together, these projects will help the company reach its ambitious target of 1 million tons of milling capacity in the country.
“LLI and the GoodMills Group are cornerstone investments within our portfolio,” said Michael Höllerer. “We see tremendous potential in this sector, and Poland – one of the EU’s most dynamic and economically resilient markets – is the ideal environment for sustainable growth.”

The mill in Kutno is one of the most modern mills in Poland.
Modernized Infrastructure and Increased Efficiency
The expanded Kutno facility now boasts a daily milling capacity of 880 tons, with annual output rising to 280,000 tons. To ensure operational consistency, the new production line mirrors the existing one. Supporting infrastructure was also significantly upgraded: flour silo capacity increased from 960 to 4,060 tons, and loading efficiency quadrupled from 25 t/h to 100 t/h, streamlining logistics and distribution.
Sustainability and Innovation at the Core
The new wheat mill – equipped with innovative technological solutions – meets growing market demands and high customer expectations regarding quality, delivery reliability, and product innovation. The investment stands out for its innovative approach to ecology and energy efficiency. A heat recovery system repurposes energy from compressors to warm the newly built laboratory, and an on-site rainwater storage facility supports sustainable water management.
Ongoing Investments Across Europe
The Kutno expansion follows major investments across the Group’s European footprint. After opening its largest mill in Krefeld, Germany in 2021 and boosting plant-based production capacity in Hamburg in 2024, GoodMills is now turning its focus to Austria. Construction is underway at the Fini’s Feinstes site in Schwechat, where a new organic mill will further strengthen the Group’s position in the fast-growing organic segment. Completion is expected by 2027.
