“World Flour Day”: Celebrating the impact of flour

World Flour Day on 20 March shines a light on one of the most important ingredients in global nutrition: flour. It is the basis of countless foods that people across Europe enjoy every single day — from fresh bread and pastries to pasta, pizza, and many staple products that define our food culture.

As Europe’s No. 1 in flour, GoodMills plays a central role in securing this daily supply. Every year, we mill around 3 million tonnes of grain and work closely with thousands of bakeries, food producers, and retailers who rely on our consistent quality and professional standards. Much of the wheat we process grows on an agricultural area comparable to 630,000 football pitches — or the combined land area of Mallorca and Menorca. This scale illustrates both the importance of flour in our food system and the responsibility we carry.

Behind this impact are the people who make it possible.
Across our seven countries, more than 1,500 skilled colleagues in production, milling, quality, logistics and many other fields ensure that our products remain safe, reliable and trusted — day after day.

To all our teams: thank you. Your expertise and dedication help nourish millions across Europe, every single day.

(At GoodMills, we also take this global day as an opportunity to celebrate our shared impact internally — during our GoodMills Flour Week, where we highlight our togetherness and the contribution we make across Europe.)

The impact we create together: GoodMills’ contribution to feeding Europe.
